Harinder Grewal

March 30, 2018 --  The county announced Thursday night that the Board of Supervisors appointed Dr. Harinder Grewal, of Stanislaus County, to serve as the new Ag Commissioner. We'll hear a little more about Grewal in the first short piece.

In the next piece, we'll hear from Devon Jones, the Executive Director of the Farm Bureau. She'll tell us about the importance of the Ag Commissioner to her membership, which is mostly conventional farmers, though plenty of cannabis growers are members, too.

Ted Williams is running for 5th District Supervisor in Mendocino County. Tune in to hear this profile of Mr. Williams and what you might expect from him as supervisor.  

The Hart family from Woodland, Washington, traveled along Hwy 1 in Mendocino County in recent days and for unknown reasons plummeted down a steep cliff at a turn out south of Juan Creek. Five family members were found dead at the scene - the bottom of the cliff on the rocky shoreline. Reporter Hope McKenney talked to Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman about the crash and the latest search and rescue efforts.

  Over 500 people gathered in Alex Thomas Plaza in Ukiah on Saturday, in solidarity with people across the country for the March for Our Lives.  The March For Our Lives movement emerged from the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida shooting on Feb. 14 that killed 17 students. Students across the country are calling for elected officials to stop taking money from the NRA and take action on gun control.
