March 9, 2018 -- The long-fought battle over Dollar General in Redwood Valley came to an abrupt end early this week. That's when Alex Chehada, one of the owners of Redwood Valley Market, announced that he had bought the lot where Dollar General was planning to put its store.
With the new formula business ordinance in place, it will be a lot harder for chain stores to set up shop in the unincorporated areas of the county. I stopped by the market and talked to Chehada about the history of the fight, and his plans for the future.
