Work on the 125 year-old Palace Hotel in Ukiah can finally begin now that the Los Angeles based court appointed receiver, Mark Adams, has been granted approval by the Mendocino County Superior Court to move forward with his proposed plan to abate the hazardous conditions of the property.

After a seven day trial in Mendocino county Superior Court, a guilty verdict was delivered Wednesday morning to 32 year-old Charles Wallace Reynolds of Willits. A jury found Reynolds guilty of a felony, committing battery causing serious bodily injury. The jury also found true a special allegation the defendant personally inflicted great bodily injury on 29 year-old Kenneth Wayne Fisher, causing Fisher’s death on August 28, 2016 in Laytonville.

    The trial for the man charged with assaulting and causing fatal injury to Laytonville-resident Kenneth Fisher began on Tuesday in Mendocino County Superior Court.

 

According to the Mendocino Voice, Charles Reynolds faces charges of felony assault and a special allegation of inflicting great bodily injury for sucker-punching Fisher in August—ultimately leading to a hemorrhage which caused his death.
