Roots and All

Tuesday, 2:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Hosted by Jeff Zolitor

Folk music is music in the vernacular. Music created in the language and style of ordinary speech and custom, for and by ordinary folks, here and around the world. Host Jeff Zolitor, presents "Roots & All" as a musical journey through the roots and branches of Folk music.

KZYX Radio's Roots and All show had the pleasure on Tuesday of airing a live studio interview with singer-guitarist Brooks Forsyth, an American musician and songwriter from Boone, North Carolina.

Forsyth's musical style encompasses a variety of genres, particularly within Americana: folk, country blues, bluegrass, and roots-rock; along with components of Jazz and Contemporary Rock. He has a large repertoire of original songs and a versatile guitar style consisting of both flatpicking and finger-picking.

I'm here at the Folk Alliance International Conference  representing KZYX & Z and my show "Roots and All."

I may have mentioned a few dozen times on the show that my kid, Ian, is also a folk DJ in Philadelphia. He's here too. In fact, we're rooming together.
