State permits were not available at the time, but Old Kai got its county permit three days before the incident.

February 26, 2018 -- Close to a hundred people gathered in front of Keith's Market in Covelo to hold a candlelight vigil for Khadijah Rose Britton, who was abducted at gunpoint earlier this month. Her family has not seen or heard from her since. Community members sang, prayed, and pleaded with anyone who has any information to come forward. Khadijah's mother sat in front  of a table covered with candles and framed photographs, and spoke of how much she loves her daughter.

The sheriff's tip line is (707) 234-2100.
