Protecting And Managing Your Fire Insurance Payout, Wednesday 7pm On Mendocino Works

Following the North Bay wildfires, survivors in Mendocino and Lake counties have begun receiving substantial fire insurance payouts -- and some are stressing over how to protect and manage the funds in the months or even years before they can begin rebuilding.

On Wednesday evening, Mendocino Works will explore strategies for preparing for these sizeable payouts, for keeping them safe and for how to make the money last. Our guests will be independent insurance agent Mitchell Gulbranson, who has been serving residential insurance clients for almost 20 years and will share stories from the aftermath of the Mendocino Lake Complex Fires, and Rachel Clark, a financial and business coach for the past 14 years who will offer strategies for making and executing a safe and effective rebuilding plan. And we'll be taking listeners' questions.

Gulbranson, a co-founder of Team Insurance & Financial Services Inc in Ukiah, has a special and intimate perspective on clients' post-fire insurance needs, having spent much of the first week of the Redwood Valley and Potter Valley fires serving survivors in the field as a member of Mendocino County Search and Rescue, a role he's played for a decade.

Clark, founder of Synergy Business Coaching, helps clients transform their business -- and their lives -- as an EMyth Business Coach. In the wake of the October fires, she's ready to share her learning about how survivors can plan a financial strategy for rebuilding from their losses that includes the setting of goals, strategic budgeting, cash flow management and implementing the strategy to achieve quantifiable impact.

That's Mendocino Works, Wednesday 13 December at 7 p.m., on KZYX.
