Mendocino County Zip Tie Program Is Back On

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in a press release that they will resume sales of voluntary zip ties for medical marijuana immediately.

The zip ties are a way of identifying legal marijuana plants. According to the Sheriff's Office, this kind of labeling process is a time savor for the deputies when they come across plants.

When the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors started working on the new county medical cannabis ordinance, the zip tie program was temporarily suspended. The Sheriff's office states in the release that although the ordinance is not completed, it will not affect those growing legitimate medical marijuana for personal use.

A valid medical recommendation and a current government photo ID are required to purchase zip ties at the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office stations in Ukiah or Fort Bragg.
