Lyon wins Lake County Woman of the Year

As women's history month comes to an end, Congressman Mike Thompson announced his pick for Lake County's Woman of the Year.


According to the Lake County News, Kelseyville resident Madelene Lyon was chosen for her work with multiple organizations such as the Kelseyville Food Pantry, the Redbud Audubon Society, and the Hospice Services of Lake County.


A former executive board member for March of Dimes Lake County, Lyon currently serves on the Lake County Board of Education and is the president of the Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association.


She told the news site quote, “I am so honored, believe me. I am just so honored and delighted.” unquote.


Her other awards include the Lake County Pioneer Award, Stars of Lake County, and the hospice services volunteer of the year.
