Oct 15, 2018 -- Meghan Walla-Murphy is a tracking expert and conservationist who believes in integrating humanity with the natural world. She tracks wildlife in Oakland, in the deserts of Southern California, and in the oak woodlands at the Hopland Research and Extension Center. I caught up with her after a workshop in Hopland to ask about hopeful trends in conservation efforts, why she chose this approach over a conventional academic career, and what, if anything, wild pigs are doing to improve the health of the landscape.
