One of the most remote, rugged and secret treasures of Mendocino County is the Sinkyone Wilderness State Park located on what's called The Lost Coast, because of the lack of major road and highway access. This coastline lined with chandalier redwood trees, is also often hidden by blankets of fog. The 7,500 acre park has been considered a "wild west" at times and now the state has increased patrols and is planning improvements to the park.
