Our new series Rural Resilience about child welfare in rural Mendocino County put this question to Heather Gurewitz, the recently appointed Executive Director of the Economic Development and Financing Corporation of Mendocino County. For this episode of Rural Resilience, Sarah Reith sits in for Alyson Bailey. The program was engineered by Mendocino Community College students on a Ukiah campus soundstage under a collaboration between KZYX and the College's Recording Arts & Technology program. Students were encouraged to pose questions to the guest.

Prior to joining EDFC, Heather Gurewitz was the Mendocino County Field Representative for Congressman Jared Huffman. She has also worked for West Company, serving as the Women's Business Center Director, and brings a passion for economic development. She has a Masters Degree in Community and Regional Planning.
