Are You OK? Red Cross "Safe and Well" Registry Lets You Tell The World

Oct 10, 2017

During and after a disaster, letting your family and friends know that you are safe and well can bring your loved ones great peace of mind. Safe And Well is a website operated by the American National Red Cross to help make that communication easier.

Here in Mendocino, Lake, Sonoma and Napa counties, where many communication systems are failing, people who are displaced by the wildfires have limited or no means to reach out to others.

If you have internet access, please consider registering with the Safe and Well web registry. Browse to www.safeandwell.org and click the "List Myself as Safe and Well" tab. You'll be asked to give your name, location, and whether you remain in your home or have been displaced.

If you are concerned about the safety of someone in the wildfire region, browse to the Safe and Well site and click the "Search for Registrants" tab. The results of a successful search will display a loved one’s first name, last name and a brief message.
