Time Traveling Forest

The Redwood Forest Foundation manages a massive chunk of timberland located north of Fort Bragg near the town of Leggett. The 78 square-mile (50,000 acre) property was purchased in 2007 for $65 million for restoration and harvest.  Tune in to find out how the forest has changed over time and how the foundation is trying to turn the clock back. 

More than half of the inmates in jails across the nation have a mental health condition, 64 percent according to the Federal Bureau of Prison statistics. Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman has brought a lot of attention to the problem here and the deterioration of the exsisting facility.

 

The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors received a proposal at their Tuesday, February 7 meeting, from a team aiming to secure state funding for a county jail expansion to include a mental healthcare space.  

    

Many homeless individuals in Ukiah are getting healthy and staying off the streets thanks to The Ukiah Valley Street Medicine program.
