Program Director

Alice has been serving as KZYX's interim Program and Music Director for the last several months. She is also a host of Women's Voices and host a classical program made up of new arrivals to the station on the fifth Monday of a given month.

Alice is a skilled classical train musician and is currently running an after school program in Anderson Valley as well as her own livestock management business.

Cal Winslow and Loreto Rojas host a series for Hispanic Heritage Month. This episode is an interview with Mireya Loza, curator of the division of work and industry at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. Her book Defiant Braceros, examines the bracero program, the largest guest worker program in US history.

Film star and comedian Bill Murray has just released an album with acclaimed Cellist Jan Vogler. The album is called New Worlds and explores the intersection of classical music and American literature. Murray's narration and singing is dispersed throughout the music and reflects many aspects of American culture including the experiences of African Americans and immigrants. The album illuminates literary and musical mastery in a new way and is unprecedented among artists of this prestige. The album is called New Worlds, the track we’re hearing is The Swan/Blessing of the Boats.
