CORPORATIONS AND DEMOCRACY - DECEMBER 7th, 2012
Energy traders develop ever more sophisticated ways to 'game' the complicated energy market. And the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) does not keep up with the corporate manipulators. Steve and Annie will be talking to Tyson Slocum about FERC and the BP settlement.
Tyson Slocum, with Public Citizen, is an expert in regulation and deregulation of energy markets, the impact of mergers and lax regulations over electricity, petroleum and naturals gas. He wants to see an independent consumer advocate office within the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to keep the agency active and aware of corporate mischief.
Slocum has appeared on CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Gox News, and Comedy Central's "Colbert Report." Hear him on KZYX Friday, December 7, from 1 to 2 pm.
