Tune in to WILDOAK LIVING, the radio program
about living sustainably and building community
in Mendocino County and beyond.

Listen live every other Monday at 9am Pacific Time
on KZYX and on the web at www.kzyx.org

Listen anytime to podcasts and find more information
about topics and guests at www.wildoakliving.org

On Monday March 4 @ 9:00 AM, I have two guests:

1. I talk with Chana Wilson, a psychotherapist, author, and former radio host.
Her memoir, Riding Fury Home, tells the story of the powerful, complicated bond
between her mother and herself: from her childhood in the 50s with a suicidal mother,
to discovering in adulthood that her mother had been a closeted lesbian
given psychiatric treatment to “cure her,” to their shared exhilaration
when they both come out in the women’s and gay liberation movements.

2. I talk with one-of-a-kind singer-song writer Judy Fjell,
who is coming to Ukiah for a concert on March 17.
Many of the more than 150 songs she has written and recorded
on 16 albums on her own label during her 40 year career
convey a strong message for compassion and justice -
for the planet and for the human race.

Judy Fjell is the founding director of the Ukiah Inland Valley Women's Choir
and of Women Making Music Retreats (since 1991)
and works in musical lay ministry for Unitarian-Universalist congregations.
She also  teaches song games for three days  in March to teachers and students
at Brookside Elementary School in Willits, CA, an event supported for many years
by the PTO and Boosters of Brookside School.
