Breaking News: "Black Fire" in Redwood Valley Black Bart Area

Monday 6:00 AM Cal Fire Incident Update: 417 acres, 50% contained. 10 crews, 4 dozers, 30 fire engines, 2 copters, 5 water tenders, 332 total personnel.  MANDATORY EVACUATIONS LIFTED from Hell's Delight Canyon Road.

"Fire is burning in a mix of grass, brush, oak and pine trees  Firefighters are working in extreme conditions; high heat, low humidity, with the potential for erratic winds.  Firefighters are aggressively utilizing resources to construct containment lines, extinguish hotspots near the containment lines & defend structures. The Evacuation Order has been cancelled. The American Red Cross has officially closed the Evacuation Shelter at Eagle Peak Middle School.  Red Cross representatives have advised that it can be re-opened, should a need exist. "

Traffic Delays due to Filming in Mendocino County

Dreamworks Pictures will be filming “Need For Speed” a major motion picture, in Mendocino County from Monday April 1st thought Friday, April 12th. Several major roads will be affected during this time. Below is a schedule of expected traffic delays for this week. All delays are between 7 AM to 8 PM, are expected to be approximately 20 minutes unless otherwise noted and are subject to change due to the nature of live filming. It’s our understanding that filming will be happening at two locations at any given time.

 

Thursday. April 4th and Friday April 5th
Filming will be on the south coast weather permitting
Lighthouse Road near Point Arena will be closed

Mountain View Road expect delays from Highway 1 to mm 1.00

And on Highway 1 from Stoneboro Rd to Windy Hollow Rd. this includes the intersection of Highway 1 and Mountain View Road.

Saturday, April 6th & Sunday April 7th

Highway 253 will be closed to through traffic between Ukiah & Boonville from 6 AM to 3 PM. The closure is from mile marker 5.8 to mm 11. You can expect 20 minute delays after 3 PM.

Tuesday April 9th and Wednesday April 10th

Highway 253 expect delays between 7am and 8pm

Thursday April 11th and Friday April 12th

Flynn Creek Rd: expect delays between Highway 128 and mm 1.00 from 7am to 9pm

Highway 128: expect delays from the junction of Highway 1 and the town of Navarro from 7am to 9pm.

Please note all closures are weather permitting & subject to change. And rain is expected later this week.
