June 17, 2013 Interview with Eliot Coleman and Barbara Damrosch
Bill Taylor and Jaye Alison Moscariello's interview with long-time organic farmers and pioneers of 4-season farming is available here:
Eliot Coleman has been farming since the early 70's in Harborside, Maine with his wife Barbara Damrosch. Their most recent book, The Four Season Farm Gardener's Cookbook, and their 40+ years experience were among the topics. Ms. Damrosch writes a weekly column in the Washington Post, and both are authors of numerous books. Their website is www.fourseasonfarm.com
Information we will use right away on Floodgate Farm that came from the interview:
Brassicas are a good crop following Garlic and Onions. I will put some overgrown field-grown starts in once the wind dies down
Potatoes with a little green on them are fine to eat after removing the green, which does not go very deep. (these potatoes we only use ourselves; we do not sell them).
