Regarding Local News
Quite often I hear from listeners who are unhappy that we don't have a 30 minute local news program and want it back. I am one of them. And we will. But not until we Pay for and complete a couple of crucial infrastructure projects that will insure the integrity of the basic signal for the future and not until we have solid enough long-term monthly income that we can afford the right person with confidence that we won't have to roll it back after just a year or so.
Meanwhile, we bring you the best local news we can afford. I understand that many local issues cannot be well covered in the short span of a 5 minute news headlines report.
But we have eleven hours of local public affairs programming every week and any of those programs can be used to air and discuss important local issues. Indeed, I think most issues are better understood via the more long-form format of these programs. If you want something covered in more depth, I urge you to contact us or the host of one of these programs and ask them to cover it.
